The first race in France was finished strongly by our U23 boys. Three of our riders finished in the first ten on a hilly course. The GP de Lillers was the first test of strength between the stronger U23 riders from Belgium and abroad.

"The race was decided fairly quickly. A breakaway of five riders had a lead of about five minutes. The big teams at the start controlled the race. As a team, we were able to save ourselves for the finale. With 50km to go, the Bingoal Pauwels Sauzen team took a strong lead. This split the peloton into pieces with about 40 riders in the first group. Kasper (Saver) and I could just make the jump to the first group.

Thanks to my teammates I was able to save myself for the sprint in the final. As a team we did a great job by finishing in the top 10 with three riders." - Enrico Dhaeye
