With a great effort Kasper managed to cross the finish line in Kruisem on his own. In his outfit as provincial champion, he gained his second victory of the season.
Our rider from Outrijve broke his collarbone at the end of June, which kept him out of competition for a month. Via a training course in the Alps, among other things, he got ready to pick up the thread again. After a few races in which he gained race rhythm, he felt ready for something more at O.L.V.-Hemelvaart.
Kasper quickly tried to take the lead, but the peloton thought differently. After a long opening phase the peloton let five riders go, including our attacking Kasper. However, the five didn't turn around well enough and four riders were able to catch them again. Our youngster waited patiently until about 30 kilometres before the finish to choose his moment. The breakaway broke up with a strong acceleration, only one rider (Thibault Fostier) was able to catch his train. Kasper didn't hesitate to sprint and continued towards the finish with a strong pace which was too fast for the rider of Alfasun-Alfacool.
For the second time he managed to arrive solo ...
